Collaborative Challenge masterclass and workshop with MA students at LCF. Photo by Aran Knowles.

I am a Senior Lecturer in Fashion and Design for Social Change, teaching in a number of courses across London College of Fashion (LCF), especially the MA Fashion Futures. I teach on the Research Proposal Unit for MA courses across the School of Design and Technology. I set up and supervise Collaborative Challenge briefs for MA students across LCF, supervise PhD researchers and Major Projects in the MA courses Fashion Futures, and Fashion Entrepreneurship and Innovation. I have recently developed a new elective unit on ‘Fashion Practices for Social Change’ for MA courses across LCF. My pedagogic approach is values-driven, critical, place-based, participatory, interdisciplinary, systemic, and transformative.

I work at Centre for Sustainable Fashion (CSF), exploring ways in which design activism can be used to create counter-narratives towards sustainability in fashion. My research spans the fields of design activism, fashion and textile artisanship, design for sustainability, social innovation, and service design. I tend to use my research and knowledge exchange practice to feed into teaching that uses fashion activism to catalyse positive social change. I am currently undertaking the PgCert course to expand my knowledge of design pedagogy and enhance my teaching practice.
